Beta test release

Limitations

This beta release is an early test release, it is probably to early to deploy in a production environment.

Currently supported attachment types are tiff, pcl, ps and prn. PDF printing is supported through Adobe Acrobat.

We aren't aware of any bugs in the release however the purpose of the beta test is to shake out any final problems. If you come across any issues please let us know, no matter how small they seem.

We are expecting to release weekly updates during the course of the test so check back here for updates.

New Features

Mail Print 2.0 is a ground up rewrite, no existing code has been used in the new version. This has allowed us to make some significant changes however it does mean existing settings will not be migrated.

Mail Print now uses the concept of actions to control the printing of emails, actions exist for printing messages, printing message attachments, playing a sound and deleting messages from the server.

Rules are more flexible and similar to what you would see in a traditional email client like Outlook or Thunderbird.

The main printing within Mail Print is now handled by a service which runs in the background. This means Mail Print can continue to work without having a user logged in or be run on a server in a back office. When you run Mail Print from the Start menu you will get a management application which talks to the service.

The current version of the Mail Print test release is Mail Print 2.0 build 2267
