Ann: Mail Print 1.30 released
We have just released version 1.30 of Mail Print.
The main changes in this release are support for GMail via a secure pop3 connection and enhancements to the printing of images.
This update is a free upgrade for all existing users of Mail Print.
Download it from http://www.mail-print.com/download.html

I downloaded and installed this release but it will not run.
I get an error message and it tells me that I should try reinstalling. Did that several times but no luck.
I reinstalled the prior release I had been using.

A couple of people have had this problem, we think it is related to a manifest file embedded in the exe. We should have a fix for this shortly.

The quick fix is to install this package from Microsoft: http://www.mail-print.com/vcredist_x86.exe
We should have a more permanent fix later this week.

Build 1083 which is available from the download page resolves this problem.
23rd May 2006
I just installed build 1.3.1083 on win2003 SBS over previous 1.2.1063 which worked fine (except for some mails giving an exception error).
The new build however when checking the account (Exchange) apparently connects to the server (as indicated in the lower status bar), then locks up and uses the CPU up to 100%, but nothing happens. Exiting the program properly removes the icon from the system tray, but without terminating the process(es) mailprint.exe.
Any suggestions?

Henri,
Do you have the option "Use secure connection" on or off?
15th Jun 2006
This option is off.
I also tried running mail-print on a win2000 workstation: same behaviour.

I'll look into it and get back to you.

Henri,
Can you check a couple of things for me:
Do you have a message with a very large attachment in the Exchange mail box?
What is the checking interval set to in Mail Print
Can you create a log file of the network, you can do this in Mail Print from the menu Tools->Diagnose Pop3 session then check the mail again.

Tony,
we currently have 12061 mails on the server, the largest mail being 13MB, but we only print the mail body.
Poll intervall is 300.
The log looks as follows:

Henri,
We will do some testing here and see what we can find.

Henri,
It looks like a problem with the trial wrapping, I have just uploaded a new release which should be OK.
Let me know how you get on.

Tony,
thanks for having this problem fixed so fast.
Mail-Print version 1.30.1091 does not resolve the problem above, but does also print the mails previously (with build 1062) giving exception errors.
Many thanks again.

Tony,
In my previous reply, the sentence should read: ...does not *ONLY* resolve the problem above...
